The Orange Bible

The other day my daughter Rose came from school, talking on and on, upset about a little orange bible someone had given her at school. Whoa, wait a minute, slow down, what do you mean someone gave you a bible at school? Well it wasn’t actually inside the school building but on the activity bus after school that someone was handing them out to students as they boarded the bus.

Anyway it wasn’t being given the bible that upset her in fact, when she first received it she was quite excited, she told me, because she had just been thinking she wanted to read it. What upset her was upon opening the bible she found an American flag starring at her. She became so disgusted seeing the flag in the bible that she didn’t want the bible anymore. If fact if I remember correctly her words where;

“Don’t you think that is weird mom? It is like pure propaganda or something putting an American flag in the bible.”

    I have no problem at all with a flag in the bible. After all, we are a Christian nation, founded on Christian principles…like it or not. Ask foreigners and they will tell you the gospel comes from America. I really like the idea. Good call, Mr. Bible Printer!

    I thought we were a nation founded on freedom of religion.

      Founded on freedom of religion…I think not. Founded on Christian ideas, yes. You couldn’t be a catholic in VA, Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams because the religious order in Mass ran him out because he was witnessing to the Native American. You really need the read a book “the history of the American People” by Johnson.

      Time for America to go back to school and learn what our fore-fathers thought and meant as they framed our government.

    While Christianity is still the largest religion in the USA, it isn’t the only religion, just like whites aren’t the only race, though our founding fathers were all Caucasian.

    Also, the USA isn’t the authority on Christianity. There are many different way of practicing Christianity. Whomever ordered that bible to be printed is most likely a very close-minded person.
